‘Christina The Astonishing’

‘To feel epic and frail, to be both beautiful and grotesque.’
Based on 12th century Christina Mirabilis patron saint of mental health. Christina the Astonishing explores personal psychotic states and heightened worlds of the foolish artist. Puppetry by Isobel Smith with music compositions by Foz Foster.

‘This fantastically beautiful show about personal battles of the soul fought and won has a highly original aesthetic and skilfully brings together its component parts of animated painting, melodramatic performance, puppetry, and music. A truly unique piece of work.’
Mim King, Total Theatre feature.
