Great start to the New year 2014 with a lovely feature by Mim King of Total Theatre magazine on both Grist to The Mill productions launched in October at Suspense festival, London.
Jean Dubuffet ‘Transistions’ at Pallant House last day..I managed to sneak in with family Gilvan and get the last viewing of Dubuffet’s paintings , graphics and video at Chichester’s Pallant House yesterday. The video had him playing home-made musical instruments whilst reciting his non-sensical poetry ‘ Le fleur de barbe’ ( Beard flowers)..I saw Dubuffet’s work 25 years ago at the Pompidou and even though he’s gone in and out of focus for me over the years, to see a small selection of his work it was refreshing to see how contemporary his paintings come across.
Have just returned from Gillian Ayres Private view at the Jerwood Gallery. Fabulous paintings full of eye-tingling intensity. Gillian was there and also great to see painters Ansel Krut, Matthew Burrows and Simon Burton.
